OUR HISTORY

Onedurr painting began as a part-time residential painting contractor in 1982, to support its young college student founder, Dave Durr. From the start the purpose of the little company was to provide quality painting services, no matter how small or large the task. This proved to be a sound formula and thanks to many loyal homeowners, the work increased and the company grew.

1980-2000

By the mid 80's opportunities came to enter the commercial painting market. Repainting retail centers became a large part of annual revenue during this period and remains so to this day.

During the 1990's work continued to grow with a focus on larger custom residential projects and professional office/medical facility maintenance painting. During this period shop finishing of cabinetry, doors and windows was established to support the custom residential workload.

2000-2010

The 2000’s was a period of great growth and change. The company grew to an average of 25 employees and a move to a larger shop facility allowed the now full time shop finishing operation to take on a variety new tasks. The most significant change a move into the industrial market with the arrival of 6 veteran industrial journeyman painters. Through their leadership the company was able to participate in painting projects for Boeing, Simpson Kraft, and other manufacturing firms in the Puget Sound region.

In 2006, floor finishing became a new focus for the painting company. The application of performance coatings such as epoxy and polyurethane systems as well as concrete polishing have a regular part of the business activity.

Not immune to the economic challenges of the late 2000’s, Onedurr has sought to thrive by evaluating our business model and adapting as needed along the way. Thanks to our friends at Cannon Construction, we were introduced to new contract opportunities at the local military bases of Mchord AFB and Ft. Lewis. Working for larger government contractors have proven to be a good fit for the gifts and talents of the skilled staff of Onedurr and currently accounts for 30% of the company revenue.

2010 - Present

As we begin 2014, Onedurr boasts 30+ employees engaged daily in tenant improvement projects, residential, commercial, and industrial painting, as well as service repair work on an on-call basis.

Every project represents a trust relationship between client and contractor. Our aim is to provide the best service and product possible, operate with integrity in all things, and leverage our talents for the benefit of our customers, employees, and the reputation of Jesus Christ.
